2014 marks the first year that HLISeattle will offer mental health training in the areas of general Mental Health, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress syndrome to Lao clinicians and health advocates serving UXO survivors and their families.
- Development of case-based, culturally appropriate learning modules and evaluation methods that highlight the health challenges of UXO survivors and their families.
- Pre and post individual tests and course evaluation metrics collected via audio response classroom methods for both the PTSD and Suicide modules to evaluate the effectiveness of the training results.
- Development of case-based, culturally appropriate learning modules and evaluation methods that highlight the health challenges of UXO survivors and their families.
- Conduct an assessment to include face-to-face individual and group interviews on the Behavioral Health training needs specific to PTSD and Suicide Prevention with UXO survivors and their families with health personnel in UXO affected districts in Lao PDR –to be conducted in November 2013. These will be done in English when possible. If not possible HLI Seattle will hire a translator to conduct these in Laotian.
